Going to Costa Rica!

Hiatus time! I’m leaving tomorrow for Costa Rica and will be gone for two months. I didn’t set up a queue because I’m, well, rather unforgivably lazy like that.

Things that I would like to see when I return:

1. Paris Burning completed

2. College Boys and Highschool Girls completed (seriously please)

3. The entire Les Mis fandom doubled in size- I won’t be able to read any fic that comes out between tomorrow and August 10th so I would like for there to be a veritable OCEAN of E/R goodness to swim in when I get back.

4. Fitblrs to keep on fitblring. I’m hoping to be able to keep up running while I’m gone but I’ll be living in a mountaintop village so it might not be possible…. Fingers crossed.

Ugly Fruit

The idea came from the fact that US markets toss out 15 billion dollars worth of fruits and vegetables each year just because they are bruised or discolored. But they are still fresh and edible. I felt there was an opportunity to stop the waste, so Ugly Fruit was born. Ugly Fruit is a stand that makes juice, jams, and dried fruits out of unattractive produce donated from our neighborhood grocery stores. Ugly fruit, pretty yummy!

Whenever I picture Grantaire, I think of that Roald Dahl quote from The Twits, about people always looking lovely if they have good thoughts. Because, although canonically he is not attractive, I can’t think of him as being anything other than one of those people whose goodness shines from them, and makes them appealing. He loved and cared so deeply; his beauty transcends physical beauty, it’s something much more intense.
